Release 2.4.0 delivers one of the most significant upgrades yet to the GLX CARGO platform, introducing an entirely new personalised dashboard experience with the introduction of My Workspace, major enhancements to freight and logistics workflows, and substantial updates to GLX AI, including powerful beta features for route planning and global vessel tracking.

Here’s a closer look at the release’s highlights.

MY WORKSPACE: a personalised command centre for every user

My Workspace provides each user with an instant, customised snapshot of their day. New configurable widgets – including count tiles, list views, and bar, column, line, donut, and pie charts – surfacing the most relevant activity, contracts, positions, and priorities without having to navigate between modules.

By aggregating key data into one location, users can quickly understand what needs attention and dive directly into the entities they manage.

GLX AI: faster, more accurate document processing and reasoning

GLX AI has been upgraded with improved speed, higher precision extraction, and stronger long form reasoning. Users benefit from more reliable processing of contracts and regulatory documents, better multistep analytical workflows, and clearer AI chat guidance, making it easier to refine queries and receive useful, structured responses.

FREIGHT & SHIPPING: BETA Navigation Hub and Global Map

The 2.4.0 release introduces two major beta features that together transform how users plan, monitor, and analyse vessel movements.

Route Planning for precise, data driven voyage optimisation

Users can now create, import, and visualise multi way point routes directly on the Voyage/Vessel Navigation Hub map. This enables more accurate voyage calculations, hazard avoidance, and operational planning. Each route includes calculated distance, duration, ETA, and speed metrics, supporting stronger scenario planning and improved decision making.

Global Map for foundational live vessel monitoring

A new beta global map now appears across Voyages, Vessels, and Ports. Ingesting AIS data from external providers, the map forms the foundation for upcoming live vessel and voyage tracking and future AI-powered freight analytics.

When a vessel is selected on the Navigation Hub Map, users can toggle between to viewing modes, which tailor insights to the user’s needs:

  1. Freight View highlights vessel particulars, high level voyage context, and AIS data (location, speed, draught, course, status and last update), giving schedulers and commercial teams clarity on fleet readiness.

  1. Operational View surfaces cargo and commercial details for active voyages, including pricing and load/discharge details, buy/sell leg positions and contract references, supporting the day-to-day decisions that keep ships on schedule while minimising risk and avoiding contractual breaches.

Together, these beta features significantly strengthen voyage planning, operational awareness, and freight management across the GLX ecosystem.

ENHANCEMENTS TO FREIGHT & LOGISTICS

Expanded Port Data: Ports now support UN/LOCODE, supported commodities, latitude and longitude coordinates, and key draft/channel limits. Additional fields capture operational windows, restrictions, and standardised stay/handling cost structures, enabling more accurate voyage and cost modelling.

Freight Contracts: Freight Contract vessel fields have been added to listings, exports, and reporting, with filtering support for vessel-related contract visibility.

Ship-Shore Compatibility: Terminals and Projects now support detailed berth, mooring, manifold, and transfer specifications, enabling future automated compatibility checks.

Demurrage Event Types: Expanded Statement of Facts (SoF) event types allow freight operators to record more operational milestones and NOR-related events for precise laytime and demurrage calculations.

Vessel Enhancements: Vessel Particulars now support LNG boiloff rates and fuel consumption across laden, ballast, and port conditions for more accurate voyage modelling.

Voyage Bulk Actions: Users can now bulk edit assignees and statuses, or bulk delete voyages from Voyage listings and Vessel to Voyages views.
