AI is reshaping the way energy cargo and freight operators work, and at GLX Digital, we’re leading that transformation.
Our recent releases bring together powerful automation, deeper system intelligence, and the early foundations of Twin AI and Guardian AI, interconnected layers that will redefine operational insight and control across the energy value chain.
AI-powered nomination task automation
The latest release (2.3.0) introduced AI-driven task creation, a major step forward in automating operational workflows. Our AI engine reads and interprets uploaded contracts, automatically generating Nomination Tasks and Master Tasks (our proprietary rules-based engine) based on extracted key details.
This enhancement removes hours of manual data entry and streamlines scheduling while keeping users fully in control. Given our focus on explainable AI versus a black-box approach, every AI-generated task is reviewable, editable, and approved by the user before finalisation.
Smarter system awareness
In 2.3.0, GLX CARGO’s AI was upgraded with a deeper understanding of how contracts, voyages, positions, tasks, and logistics connect across the platform.
This expanded awareness drives stronger analysis and more meaningful decision support. It also forms the foundation of our long-term AI vision: to develop purpose-built intelligence for the energy sector, not generic enterprise AI repurposed for complex trading and logistics workflows.
AI-enabled data capture & quality management
Data consistency and accuracy remain among the biggest challenges facing energy operations. Our latest AI capabilities address this head-on.
By leveraging generative AI, GLX CARGO now extracts key quality specifications from uploaded contracts and other documents – even from low-quality PDFs – and maps them accurately into the relevant fields. Operators then approve the extracted data before it is committed into the system.
The result is faster, cleaner data and significantly fewer manual errors, all while maintaining human oversight.
GLX CARGO’s AI assistant
Recent releases have also introduced and developed Obi, GLX CARGO’s AI Assistant. Obi is our in-app chatbot that helps users navigate the system, interrogate and summarise contracts, filter records, and manage workflows using simple natural language.
Built with secure integration of Anthropic’s Claude models, and enhanced through GLX’s proprietary prompt engineering, Obi is context-aware and understands both the structure of GLX CARGO and the unique workflows of energy cargo operations.
And this is just the beginning. As Obi continues to evolve, it will expand its role from helping execute tasks to anticipating them and more.
The next phase
By release 2.5.0, we will have completed the foundational layer for GLX CARGO’s Twin AI. Our AI model – already pre-trained with industry context – will be further strengthened using GLX’s own domain-specific knowledge, closing remaining gaps and giving the AI a full, operational understanding of GLX CARGO’s structure, logic and workflows.
With the continued expansion of shipping and freight workflows across upcoming releases, the AI will gain the ability to operate seamlessly across cargo ops and freight ops, understating how actions, data and decisions in one area affect the other.
This marks the beginning of a unified operational intelligence layer inside GLX CARGO, one that supports teams with faster insights, smarter workflows, and a clearer picture of every voyage, contract, and movement across the value chain.
